The Danish Museum of Art & Design was founded in 1890 by the Industrial Society of Copenhagen (now Dansk Industri – The Confederation of Danish Industries) and the Ny Carlsberg Museumslegat. The Ny Carlsberg Foundation has made donations to the museum throughout the last century.
