One of countless works of art created on the initiative of the son of the founder of Carlsberg, Carl Jacobsen, is 'The little mermaid'. Carl Jacobsen first presented the staue to the City of Copenhagen on August 23, 1913 and in 2003, the Little Mermaid will celebrate her 95th birthday at Langelinie Pier.
