Best time of day to visit
You should allow around 1½ hours for a complete tour. Arriving in the morning means there is more time to lose yourself in our history. Afternoons in the high season can be very busy and you may have to queue.
Bookings
You do not need to book ahead if you come on your own or in a small group (less than 15 people). But if your group is more than 15 people, you should make a booking in order to get a group discount. Only groups with reservations can get the group discount. To book a visit - click here
Brochures
In our reception we have brochures in Danish, English and Swedish.
However, it is possible to download brochures in the following languages (click on a flag to download).
Children & young people (under the age of 18)
Danish law states you should be at least 18 before we can serve you alcohol. You also need to be 18 before you can buy beer from the souvenir shop. Children and young people under the age of 18 can only visit Carlsberg accompanied by an adult.

The Visitor Centre’s staff will be happy to help disabled guests. There are 3 parking spaces for handicapped visitors in the yard. Further information is available if you click here.
Entrance
Adults (18+) pay DKK 65,-. Young people between the ages of 12 and 17 pay DKK 50,- (only when accompanied by an adult). Children under 12 are free of charge (only when accompanied by an adult). Food
In Bar Jacobsen and in the outdoor café (in the summer), we serve lunch dishes, all prepared with beer as a component. With focus on the purity and the freshness of the Nordic crops we serve light, delicious, and modern food, which is simple to prepare and easy to enjoy. Read about the menu here.
Group rates
Groups of more than 15 can get a group discount. The group rate is DKK 50,- per person. Group visits has to be booked in advance.
Group visits
As capacity in the Visitors Centre is limited (it is based in Old Carlsberg’s buildings from 1847), we recommend splitting larger groups into several smaller ones. Fifty people in one group are the maximum.
Guided tours
About 10 years ago, Carlsberg abandoned the tradition of guided tours. Today, we give each guest a map that indicates the recommended route to follow with a system of numbers. (Download the map here)
Horses and stables
The stables are part of the tour, but you can visit the stables and say hello to the horses without paying the entrance fee.
Jacobsen Brewhouse
The Brewhouse is an integrated part of the tour which finishes in Bar Jacobsen with some beer samples. Read more about the Jacobsen Brewhouse or the Bar Jacobsen
