The Jacobsen brewhouse - named after Carlsberg's founder JC Jacobsen - is located in a building dating from 1878 in the old part of the Carlsberg brewery, and today the heart of the Carlsberg Visitors
Centre.
The Jacobsen brewhouse is an expression of our ambitious plans for the development and marketing of uncompromising speciality beers and serves as a living embodiment of Carlsberg's cultural history.
The brewhouse's first products were Bramley Wit, Brown Ale, Saaz Blonde and Original Dark Lager and it's continually developing new types of beer.
A range of experimental brews under the name 'Jacobsen Limited Edition', has also been produced. These products are available exclusively at the brewhouse bar and at the souvenir shop.
"We want to give people new taste experiences, and we want to challenge and develop beer culture. It's about making the most of what nature has to offer," says brewmaster Jens Eiken, head of the brewhouse.
